We had a komondor, probably not a good choice for Florida with the heavy coat he had. We never had another problem with predators or ranging domestic dogs after we got Hagar. We had other house and farm dogs, including a chihuahua. It was never a problem. The chihuaha tried to get Hagar's dinner one time and he put one huge foot on her back and held her in place until I could rescue her.
We got him at 8 weeks and raised him with the goat kids, but I also did an obediance class with him . He came in from the house from time to time. He definitely thought for himself. He dragged a visiting teen from the barn by the boy's sleeve. It was a family we didn't particularly welcome. The dog picked up on that. He also lifted his leg on the mom's skirt, something he only did the one time. He did kill a kitten I brought home. I stupidly didn't introduce them and show Hagar that it was HIS kitty. But he was with newborn kids all the time, never a problem. Nancy
