No, not at all. Eitill had an abscess open up last fall right before we were to leave for a trail riding weekend. He was mostly better, but I didn't want to chance re-injuring it. Eitill got the weekend off, and Trausti went instead. And an abscess is frequently something that blows over pretty quickly. If it were vaguer, like something possibly in a joint, or a possible laminitis, I'd be even less inclined to ride the horse until he was better, and if possible, the reason was determined.
