Hi! Thank you for your reply and helpful suggestions. My gelding is
an
Icelandic, 12.2 hds rich apricot Palomino in the summer and cream
colored in the winter...He is an easy keeper, and we have had him for
5
years. I can't seem to figure out how to get him interested in going
into the trailer, but he is a solid trail buddy that chugs me up and
down the hills where we board. He will move thru a herd of cattle
with
no spooking. In fact, when our ssh & pinto spook, he just moves
happily along the trail. We have had our 13 yr old daughter riding
him
for a year on the trail, and she has never felt him spook. When he
used to spook with me, he would plant for a few seconds and move
along
with no problems. He doesn't bite, spin, rear oror kick and gets
along
with mares and geldings in a pasture situation, and on the trail.
His
name is Andvari (Andi)which means "light breeze" in German. His sire
is from Wiesenhof(sp?)He is a great guy and I wish that I could keep
him, but we have to downsize from three horses to two because my
husband and I are self employed and work has been so slow for
months...His photo is on Dreamhorse under "Andi the Icelandic"...I
don't know how to attach a photo here, but I also have a video in AVI
format...
