"Getting To Yes" is a book written by Sharon Foley of the ClickRyder list.
It is a book that helps owners and riders understand how to train their
horses.

Here's a good section from the beginning of the book where she is talking
about Podhajsky, and the old masters and the way they used rewards to the
horse and asking easy questions to get "yes" answers:

"The best place to start the search for a contemporary model that these old
connoisseurs would have approved of is in the work of Bill Dorrance, which
he describes in his book True Horsemanship Through Feel. This has to be the
greatest book ever written on the subject of horsemanship. It is the only
book I've encountered that delves deeply and exclusively into the matter of
a better kind of horsemanship based on feel, balance, timing, and most
importantly, observation of the horse's state of mind while working with
him. Bill Dorrance was, without a doubt, a master of the "ingenious
patience" referred to by Gueriniere, and his book is truly a gift to horse
folk worldwide."
