Some that aren't naturally gaited are able to be forced to tolt, but it's 
not a good thing to do.

Not necessarily.  The icelander-style training of tolt does not really work 
with the natural gaitedness of the horse, so even if an Icelandic is "tolt 
trained", it doesn't last.
