It's only through feel that a rider can make use of the lightness in
the horse without creating resistance. When you can direct a horse's
movements through feel, then there's understanding taking place
between the person and the horse. This is the sign of true horsemanship.

  People are going to be in a better position to handle a horse if they
  spend that time it takes to get some real useful knowledge. That's
  what they're going to need to get in order to present their feel to the
  horse clear enough so he can understand hat they expect him to do. So
