I am very clumsy and gimpy and waller around getting on and off, and
some horses just dont like that much, of any breed, while some are
fine with it, of any breed. My Jaspar is a lazy horse, and he would
honestly stand there chewing his cud while you wallered around, fell
under his feet, dangled from his neck, all day if need be. He aint
going nowhere til he has to. You need a horse like that. a lazy,
laid back, non-nervous type is all. some icelandics are impatient,
some of any breed are impatient. I always want to go on record as
offering an opposing voice when people say these things :) Just my
mission since I rescued stali from that woman who had bought
icelandics as trinkets because "they dont have to eat or they will get
fat" so she starved them and "They say they are so short you can fall
off them and not get hurt" oh haha haha. she rode stali exactly
once and "he scared me and I didnt really know how to "strap" the
saddle on anyway. " So I am the sane rational voice in a starry eyed
group I hope :) we all love our icies but I have honestly seen no two
alike except I have seen some fidgety ones alike and some grumpy ones
alike and some sweetheart ones alike. jm soapbox .02 :)
