Yes, he does... :) Yesterday in the vet's office waiting room, a tall man came in and went straight to the counter and (what a faux pas!) neglected to speak to Frank. Frank stood right behind him, patiently looking up at him, head cocked to the side in that pug manner, waiting to be acknowledged. When the man still failed to notice him, Frank lost patience, and did his throaty little "Woo-woo-woo-woo-woo" pug bark, head still cocked to one side. The guy finally looked down, to Frank's wiggling delight. The guy grinned, and said, "Well, hello to you, too!" I'm not sure why pugs often have to bark in five syllables. My African Gray can answer, "What does the [fill-in-the-blank-animal] say" for several animals. According to Smokey, dogs say "WOOF!" and cats say "Mee-ooow". We used to ask her "What does Johnny say?" and she'd answer, "Woo-woo-woo-woo-woo." Johnny was our first pug, the one we lost 2-3 months ago at age 16.
