Your local grocery store! :-)  

If you have an Ingles in your area, they sell fresh papaya.  They are 
pretty small (about the size of a large mango) compared to what I'm used 
to from Panama (papayas were the size of large watermelons!).  You just 
cut it in half like you would any melon, scoop out the seeds (which 
looks like rabbit poop).   Not sure if the skin or seeds are edible.  
You could cut off the skin and cut the flesh into chunks.
