Well, actually, Susan, if you think about it, Andi had a lot more than 30 days training. You have been training him for a long time and in such a way that the under saddle part is really usually anti-climatic. That is a very small part of his training. If he hadn't been trained earlier and was just pulled out of the pasture, then 30 days may not have been enough but he's really had years of training to lead up to that first ride. I was riding a 4 yr old Connemara/TB Mare I had on the trails after 4 weeks traing under saddle but she had 3 years of training from me before anyone ever got on her back. The saddle training was really a non event and she had been on the trails every week being lead or ponied or ground driven. Andi was obviously ready.
