That reminds me of a funny thing. My farrier seems like the ultimate, good old boy country redneck - that is, until you talk to him for a while, and he scares you to death with the depth of his knowledge of equine anatomy. So, when he first came to trim Sina right after I got her, we were making small talk, trying to remember if he'd ever seen an Icelandic in person (certainly not in our area, but he thought maybe at some expo-type thing in the past). I was chatting casually with him, and explained that Iceland seems like a part of Scandinavia to me, since it was settled by Vikings, and he turned to Sina, patted her and said, "I'll have to call you Sleipnir then. Where are your other four legs?" You could have knocked me over with a feather.
