I think the NC version of Publix is the Harris Teeter chain. About 15-20 years ago, I guy I worked with told me, "Did you know that Dolly Parton just bought the Harris Teeter, Big Star, and Piggly Wiggly chains?" This was just after she opened Dollywood, and I said, "Really?" He said, "Yep. She's going to call the new combined chain Big Wiggly Teeters." I hope that didn't offend anyone.
