Just got a report from liz graves, just back from Thailand where she is working toward a National geographic special on elephants and gait. here is what she said:
Hi Janice, Just in from Thailand, It's going to take a few days to get my system back on track, my internal clock is a bit screwed up. I DID it!! I got my Certificate for Amateur Mahout status!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My dream is now to go back in time and earn my advanced and eventually my professional certificate. My body is worn out and been stretched to its max but it was so worth every minute of the pain, getting on and off Elephants is hard work but riding and teaching them is like nothing else in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to work on my Thai language skills though as I had trouble pronouncing the words correctly as the elephants there only know Thai not English. Warmest, Liz -- yipie tie yie yo
