Mary, I admire your principles. Maybe someday I'll go ahead and become a vegetarian, but I haven't so far. One other turkey story...my daughter's ex-fiance worked at one of the turkey processing plants while he was going to college. He's a softy about animals (had to be to get engaged to my daughter) but he used to joke about some of the odd job descriptions at the processing plant - one job, he called the "turkey blesser". It seemed they had a couple of assembly line "ministers" of certain religions, who sat on the slaughter lines and constantly babbled their prayers of blessing...so that the plants could say that the turkeys had been slaughtered to meet certain religious terms. It was still assembly line slaughter, but it qualified 'em for the labels... I do still eat meat, and I have qualms at times, but at least I don't buy the more pricey packages and feel smug for "doing the right thing." Happy Thanksgiving.
