Just to clarify, the XL (extra long seat ) seat does not change the base
length of the Hybrid or any other Sensation saddle. The cantle is just
moved back 1" on the base & the dressage cantle is not as wrap around or
deep as the standard Hybrid cantle so it is more roomy/less confining than
the standard Hybrid cantle for the rider. Nothing changes for the horse.

Karen has 2 Hybrids with the dressage flap & XL seat with dressage cantle.
Janice MacDonald has a Hybrid with dressage flap
& st andard Hybrid cantle. I think I am the only dealer that has demo
models in the Hybrid with English Trail flap/XL seat dressage cantle &
Hybrid's with dressage flap/ XL seat with dressage cantle. They are my best
sellers of all the models so far.

The first few off the presses dressage Sensations were about 3/4" - 1"
shorter in the base for the horse than the then standard English Trails.
Dressage models do ride a bit smaller for the rider as well because of the
deeper pommel & deeper cantle in that model. The slightly shorter base
length occured in just these first few models. Since then all the
exchangeable parts for the Sensation are die cut at the manufacturers so
base lengths/all parts are about the same. All that being said, humans are
making them & leather handles/stretchs differently from hide to hide so
there are still some very slight variations from saddle to saddle . The
Western Sensation is the only model out right now that has a longer base
length for the horse of about 4".
