I also know of a horse who was wearing down his hooves faster than he could grow them. The owner trims his feet herself because she couldn't find a good farrier to replace the gal that went on maternity leave. She worried about putting a shoe on top of a bad trim. So...she bought herself another horse so she could give each of them a break. It's worked out well. She rides an exceptional amount though. Wanda
