Well from all the research I have done on Native Americans and the Nez Perz and Appys, they specifically breed the Appys to have sparse mane and tail...horse with this characteristic are harder to track...they do not leave as much hair....They also liked the Appy eyes as they looked more human like...somethinbg that the settlers did not enjoy. I have had old elders tell me that when I lived in Oregon and Washington state...they also told me that a lot of them had an Indian Shuffle. I can not even remember the Native word for it......
