Here is another photo of us from the Tejon Ranch 50 Mile Endurance Ride. _http://www.photo.lynnesite.com/photos/225632121-L-2.jpg_ (http://www.photo.lynnesite.com/photos/225632121-L-2.jpg) This photo is special to me because of the other horse and rider in it. The rider is Cherie Briscoe, the mother of Laurie Ledbetter, the now disabled rider whose mare is trained to lay down for her to mount, as shown in a youtube video that other people on this list commented on this year. Cherie is riding her young stallion, Echo, a six year old. Echo is the son of Doctor Thunder Bask, a now deceased Arabian stallion who is in the endurance hall of fame. He is the nephew on his mother's side of another Arabian stallion, MMS Farimir, who has also won various national endurance awards. Remington has ridden literally thousands of miles with Doc and Far. It is really cool for me to now ride with one of their progeny. Echo is strong and beautiful but a little nervous, spooky and wilfull. As Cherie knows, Remington makes the perfect babysitter since his I own the universe attitude gives other horses rding with him confidence. He also won't take any bleep off young stallions and makes them behave. Among the many young Arabians he has babysat through endurance rides is a daughter of another stallion he babysat through a whole season of rides a decade ago. The old pony is at least worth something as a babysitter. John Parke Solvang CA
