With Icelandics, it is the tight nosebands, with other gaited horses it is long shanks on the bit. What is comes down to is shortcuts to get the horse in gait right away. The basics are neglected in the desire to get gait. And the horse suffers and then the novice gaited horse owner suffers and makes the horse suffer even more.
