Mostly black snakes (which are harmless) and garter snakes. With the exploding deer population, poisonous snakes have virtually disappeared. It is a little know fact that deer will murder snakes with their front hooves. In the thirty years we have had this place I have seen one rattle snake and we ate that one. You can grill it, it's delicious. Old timers told us that there were rattle snakes here but I think they are all gone now. Anneliese
