I have also had very varied experience. My husband and I went on a trek in
Iceland about 3 years ago. Some of the horses were really laid back and did
not want to keep up and others were super sensitive. While I was there
family took me to try many horses to consider importing. The very first
one was so sensitive that I praised God that I got off back at the farm
instead of 20 miles down the road. I probably rode 25 horses that week with
his
family and they were all completely different.
Most of you probably also know that I have 4 imports. All of them are
rather lazy and I have to encourage them to go. Hlekkur stops with just
dropping the rein and saying "whoa". He will come to a dead stop from a
flying
pace with just a verbal cue.
