Yes, that would be the worst thing possible for him.  I have run
across one very untrustworthy owner, and one very vicious prior owner
(of the same horse)- with not one whit of concern for the horse....it
was all about them and protecting their reputations.

Unfortunately the horse was caught in the middle.

Yes, be very forthcoming about his troubles.  However, be aware that
in a different home he must just blossom wonderfully.
