When I first bought Hunter, I had to use a chain or a rope halter to move him from his pasture to the large pen where he spends the night. He knocked down the barn owner once when she was moving him. This is the horse I bought from a certified Parelli instructor. I assume he was a project.
I've had him going on three years and now I move him at night with a soft cotton rope looped over his neck. He really seems to like not being confined. He stops, backs, comes forward, stops again, stands at the gate to be released and then explodes into his pen to eat. If I were going to describe his expression, I'd say he's proud of himself. Nancy
