Pat Parelli will be the first to tell you that, when it comes right down to it, nothing is really "so Parelli" about his program. He uses good, sound natural horsemanship methods, but their claim to fame is coming up with the most organized program for the average person to follow. After you get to the point that is instinctive to you, you can do the same thing with just the subtlest tilt of your head. Horses are VERY tuned in to body language, and even a horse that doesn't know the Parelli program will many times respond to the body language they show you.
