A couple of years ago there was a fitness center here that built a new facility - they got all new mats etc so were selling the old ones very reasonably. We also go about 600 square feet of good rubbing matting from a church so you might keep your eyes open and put the word out. Sometimes things like old conveyer belting can also work.
