>>>> Janice, I have ridden in my BMSS since 2001 and have NEVER had it slip. I mount from the ground. I would never say it is a saddle for everyone but, like all saddles, some are good for one person and not another.
I liked my BMSS pretty well too - until I outgrew that 14.5" seat, and the 15.5" seat was too long for Sina...sigh. I used to drool over Renee's totally cool-looking cowgirl BMSS, but unless I stop eating so much, I guess I'll never get one of those. My bad...I'm just a cowgirl wannabe... There is a discussion on the treelesssaddles list right now that's about to drive me batty. I suspect a few of you may remember that Cary had a FreeForm Classic treeless saddle that he rode when he had Kari - one of the gazillion saddles we've owned. But, he bought Skjoni back (I'll never sell THAT horse again!) and the FreeForm didn't fit him - too long and not shaped correctly. The FF didn't fit any other Icelandic on the place, so we eventually sold it. We tried the Free N Easy flexpanel for Cary and Skjoni and it SEEMED to work for several months...but then Skjoni started getting a little pacey, then hard to catch...and Cary tried a Sensation on him, and he's still using it. Anyway, I seem to remember someone on this list (who seems pretty sensible) has a FreeForm that she uses for her Icelandic. Who is it? (Penny Hodge...maybe?) If you're out there, and it's still working, I'd like to know, just to jog my memory. We actually liked that FreeForm pretty well from the human point of view, but it didn't work for the rest of our horses. I also think MAYBE that Robyn said she'd tried the FreeForms and found them too "V"shaped for our mostly "U-shaped" breed. Robyn, do I remember this correctly? I'm getting older and we've talked about SOO many saddles on this list. Karen Thomas [EMAIL PROTECTED] No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
