>>>> What's wrong with you?!?!? That Icelandic Horse is not being ridden
"correctly"! There is no noseband, no shoes, no icelandic saddle, no whip,
no protective boots (what?!?!? you want your horse to cut it's leg off with
it's other leg when it moves?!?!?), and no speed. You are ruining the breed
and the gaits! (Of course, this is a joke, but I have had a couple of these
comments from my videos on youtube, mostly from Europe.)

Yeah, I think there's quite a niche for these "ruined" horses. We still have
a few left that need ruining. :)

I've gotten really interested in the Parelli "Success" series of videos.
Cary got me the "Impulsion" video from the series for Christmas. I watched
it yesterday. Pat works with one of his young horses probably a QH, and
that mare is WIRED! He uses the word "goey" about her and you can tell that
the hot horses are the ones that he loves best. Sheesh, all a person has to
do with that mare is look at her and she canters off. I think about the use
of the word "goey" in conjunction with Icelandic's when I see a horse like
that and I just shake my head. I have never seen an Icelandic so
wired...and I'm not complaining. Sure, there is a range of energy levels in
this breed, but I've never seen a really hot Icelandic...not by a long shot.
The video is about "impulsion", and he uses her to point out that
"impulsive" is not the same thing as "impulsion." It's a really good
video - gave me lots to think about.

For those of us mostly exposed to Icelandic's these days, it's nice to see a
REALLY "goey" horse for a change, just to keep things in perspective! We're
spoiled. :)
