check your brush... my Jaspar is very very outspoken about brushes :)
In fact he prefers a face brush all over but unfortunately that won't
get the job done :) also selenium levels can cause skin sensitivity.
as for the raking, sometimes people do things so differently at other
places, using different types of equipment... I know it isnt really
related, but i had an incident very recently. We were working on
something and it was nice out and we left the door open and the house
filled with flies. We have an aversion to using pesticides in the
house. So I got out a fly swatter and had a field day whacking flies.
Next thing I notice my dog earl is GONE. It took forever to find
him, under the house, cowering and trembling. We had to half lift him
and shove him into the house and he ran and hid under the bed. I
actually phoned the guy who gave him to us and asked had he ever
whacked him with a fly swatter. He laughed and said no. then we
remembered.... when earl first came to us when he was bad we would
take a rolled up newspaper and whack the floor beside him, not hitting
him, but the noise was punishment. me whacking at flies for a couple
of hours must have traumatized him no end with him cowering and
wondering what he had done. We felt bad about it...

But I can rake around Jaspar's back feet but STonewall can be kicky if
startled and Tivar will dance away. Tivar hates a bath. But he came
from dry california where it probably didnt take all day for him to
dry....and he hated being bug sprayed when he came here, but Ann in
Calif admits she barely had to bug spray him there. here you have to
bug spray winter and summer.

its always interesting to find what pushes your new horse's buttons.
Yesterday Tivar came up to me at liberty while I was filling the duck
water pool and he was sweaty from running and I put the hose on light
mist and it was the first time ever he asked at liberty for a hose off
and stood for it. That was a break thru really since when he first
came to me he purely hated to be hosed.
