Hi Sylvia,
Thank you for the complement. My consulation is that
if I can never ride her again, I will always have a
big lap-dog for a pet. She is so sweet she does not
need a lead rope and follows me around like a dog.
Yes, a never block was done though I am not sure how
much I trust the result. First the vet said it was
the suspensory ligament and her gait improved
somewhat. THen the next day he injected it directly
into the hock and said her gait improved even more ( I
was not there to see that one) I agree it could be
back/stifle issues as well.
My friend also has a Peruvian that has been having
problems with swelling on the fetlocks. Maybe we just
picked poorly. but I am not sure how strong the breed
is as a whole.
I hope Icelandics are a little hardier.I am really
kind of uncomfortable switching breeds though. You
know, finally I am understading the breed, know who
the best stallions are. Know a little about the
bloodlines. And now I have to start all over. I can't
even pronounce the Icelandic names. I am not sure I
would know how to evaluate one from a conformational
standpoint.
