Thank you guys for responses to what has worked for you. It would be hard to put vet wrap on the hip. I was thinking of a gauze dressing with duct tape but knowing Starri, he would chew that off too! I've sprayed the bitter tasting/no chew spray around the hip when I noticed hair was missing but it didn't seem to stop him. I'll look for the Watkins salve...I think nasty-tasting is the key to stop the biting.
