OK - I'm going to be the pain in the a** again but... Nancy is correct, having the reins riding this low is an invitation to disaster and encourages the horse to move with it's nose to the ground. Look at the video again and see how easily the horse could step over and get tangled in those long lines. You can use a saddle as a surcingle but you need to raise and anchor the stirrups. Nancy is also right that this woman does a nice job with the lines and responds really well when the horse is worried about the grate.
