Once a year I visit the allergy dude and get lectured on how I should get rid of my cats (!). I get allergy shots that have made a huge difference but not solved the whole problem, the cats don't go in the bedroom, our new house will not have any carpet, I always have short haired cats, I don't go anywhere without tissues and an inhaler, I call the doctor the instant I feel a sinus infection or ear infection coming on, occasionally ponder a change in careers, only one cat (and the new one) live in the house; the others are in charge of pest control in the barn. I was planning on being a horse vet until that idiot blew through a stop light and wrecked my shoulder, so this is not all as silly as it sounds. I knew I was allergic to cats when I started vet school - but what do ya do? The wreck was a few months before graduation. Surprising the places life takes you. Penny
