Part of the problem here, I believe, is the whole "adults riding ponies" thing. Get a decent rider actually ON an Icelandic and they fall in love - but convincing a rider that the small hairy pony with the funny action can actually carry them in the first place - and they won't look stupid - is the hard part. Plus you can pick up a small hairy pony (not gaited, crap temperament and probably would not carry an adult, but looks sorta similar) for £500 where Icelandics trained to ride start at around £2500 here.
