Notice who is riding the horse - the only American graduate of Holar, Laura Benson. Now, why would anyone need to travel to Iceland to take a two-year equestrian program when there are so many reputable programs available in the USA? I imagine that most equestrian programs in the USA would teach you how to fasten and fit a flash noseband - IF you feel you must use one - and probably even teach the rider how to balance without hauling on the reins (shown in the photos surrounding the one referenced.) If you remember, the USIHC selected Laura, 21 at the time I think, to be a "clinician" at Equine Affaire, either last year or the year before. At the last minute, they substituted Gudmar (MUCH older, 26 or 27 at the time) to replace her. Now they have Walter Feldman coming to the US to teach a "trainer seminar." These people need to get out in the world, so they can get a little perspective about how badly they ride and train. Pretty horse - too bad he's being trained that way. Karen Thomas, NC
