Hi Wanda,
You know, I've looked at this picture and find it just as offensive as
everyone else who has commented. BUT -- it's interesting to note something
about this picture: I can see someone "from the other side" for whom such
adjustment is normal, commenting that since there is a gap or daylight seen
under the ring on the side, one could still likely get two fingers beneath such
a noseband, and therefore, it could be called "properly adjusted" with the
indenting we see just being the horse's hair being compressed.
Now, of course this isn't the reality of the situation -- I think most or all
of us here on this list appreciate that and see the undue tightness of this
noseband (not to mention the thinness of the band adding to the bite), but I
just know someone out there sees only that little, disceiving "gap" and will
hang their argument on it. And isn't that sad. . .
