Ok, so Maggie isn't a teeny-weeny Yorkie...So what if at no more than 12-weeks (best-guess by the vet) she's already about 18 pounds....So what if we don't have a clue what her heritage might be...I still think she's a cutie pie. :) By the way, those puppy teeth still aren't getting loose, and they still are spaced fairly close together. This girl still has some growing to do.

I came home from work late on Thursday and found her head caught under the kennel gate in a way I wouldn't have thought possible. Cary was out of town on business and he had to stay over an extra day when his flight got canceled due to an ice storm. I think she'd been trapped like that for a while. At first I thought she was dead, but she was exhausted. She was however, showing some signs of shock. One of my best friends is a small animal vet, and dear soul that she is, she rushed over to check her for me. Maggie's still a little sore and stiff from the ordeal, but she looks like she's fine. Cary has since modifed the gate so that accident should never happen again. I swear, we try our darnedest to have a safe home for our animals, but they keep finding things we miss... This near-miss will haunt me for a while. Karen Thomas, NC
