please try and help her understand that its not a stronger bit needed
as most people want us to do!! When Tivar was upset and goey goey the
other day one woman started in about how he needed a bit. He is way
better, or at least as good, with a sidepull! People just dont
understand that! There is no bit on the planet that will stop a
runaway horse! When we crossed flooded areas in 2-3 feet deep water
Tivar wanted to go with his nose to the water, I was first afraid he
was gonna try and roll since he just loves to swim. So I kept tugging
his head back up and that would aggravate him and he would head toss
and put his head back down to the water. Someone kept commenting how
he would listen if he had a bit. ?? That just infuriates me when
rednecks with no knowlege whatsoever of NH will automatically try and
proselytize everyone into a shanked bit! On the way BACK to the trail
head when he was calm and soft and I trusted him and he trusted me I
let him do what he wanted with his head and he went across puddles
with his nose just above the water. he wasnt smelling it, he wasnt
tasting it, I think he was trying to "see" the bottom!
