I am so glad no one is using a crupper. Both of the women who come out to condition with us are using treeless saddles - they work for Candy Kahn, so maybe Freeform? They can't believe that anyone could ride downhill without a crupper. Hunter and the Arabian they were targeting in particular both have high-ish sharp-ish withers so I was beginning to think maybe a more round backed horse really would need a crupper.
For sonme reason, I have a real aversion to them, even though my driving harness has a crupper and it's never been a problem with the horses I have used it on. Nancy
