FYI: Just wanted to let everyone know that a genetic test for equine polysaccharide storage myopathy (EPSM/PSSM) is now available. This has long been the disease de jour for horses with tying-up, back pain, Shivers and a host of other vague complaints but the high fat diet can induce laminitis and insulin resistance. This test will allow accurate diagnosis for over 90% of the cases without requiring muscle biopsy (hair or blood testing). Cost is $65. Details here:
