What they do need is a correctly shaped tree fork of
correct width for the individual & tree rails that will allow for correct
spacing of the gullet to put the panels in the correct place on the
longissimus muscle group & be short enough to allow the end of the panels
to not exend far behind the last rib. . . . . In short they need a
specially
 designed tree. <

Thanks Kaaren for that explanation. I can definitely see the connundrum of
the matter. I was just commenting the other day in a private e-mail what a
catch-22 situation many of us have: We're larger riders, so we choose the
strongest horses we can find -- more often than not, with a shorter
functional back. But, we need longer saddles, and there we are with a
horse capable of carrying us well, but no room for our saddles that fit us.
