its that time of year. My pasture is lookin good! after four years of hell. I planted the most expensive argentine bahia, it never came up due to drought. I replanted, it came up but died due to drought. Now this year, I planted Pensacola Bahia, a more cold hardy variety and it looks so pretty! I am just thrilled! We had our soil analyzed by the extension office and we are supposed to put lime every three years. it is time for lime but I read online you are supposed to do lime in the fall? Also, I fertilized in fall. Now am I supposed to fertilize again?? Fertilizing terrifies me, my husband once killed out entire two acre lawn with "weed and feed" by applying too much! And since our pasture is not irrigated, i have to wait til we know a rain is coming to plant or fertilize etc.
Anyway. I would like to know what others thoughts are along these lines! I have about 7 acres in pasture. Fenced into two so I can rotate. Janice -- even good horses have bad days sometimes.
