Like I taught stonewall the spanish walk. I was so proud but he would only do about four steps. I went to a Tommy Turvey clinic and afterward bragged to him how I had taught stonewall the spanish walk. He asked how I had done it, when I told him he started shaking his head, vigorously, vehemently, very negative head shaking body language. and blurted see? I get so frustrated, what you have taught your horse has nothing whatsoever to do with a spanish walk! Teaching your horse to walk slowly with exaggerated high steps is just about completely opposite from the spanish walk, and when I asked how to teach the spanish walk he said to get his video and firat teach him to stand completely still, the first step in any trick, and work from there, that it would be the first of many steps leading up to the spanish walk, which is actually something build onto the half halt. I thought then, and still do, oh rats I dont have time and patience to learn how to teach a half halt... haha Janice
