I usually use the one that is more like a rein with the rope attached around the chest. However, I would suggest that you just try using an old rein just tied around his neck or a martingale strap if you have one. What it will do is give you a way to balance him that a single reined hackamore (with the little shank) doesn't really let you do, so it can be very helpful for you. Robyn Hi Robyn,
