Or come to that, competition riding, trail riding, playing in the
field or any other thing horses get up to.

Accident and injury can and do happen anytime, anywhere. Horses have
been ridden on ice in Iceland for a loooooong time, and I have not
been able to find evidence of ANY injury as a direct result of being
ridden on ice. If anyone can provide me with some, then PLEASE do so!

To say horses get injured then it shows up weeks/months/years down the
line is daft - how would you know it was because of the 15 minutes on
the ice and not as a result of playing in the field the next day, or
being ridden round the lanes? Answer - you wouldn't.
