Cali had her feet done today (along with Hroi, Buttercup, and 14 others here). Here are three rather boring (hooray - my favorite kind) videos of her having them done. I think the more the farrier is around Icelandic's, the more he likes them. He's a lifelong "QH person" but he does all breeds, all disciplines of horses in this area, from Arabs, to gaited horses, to TB's to Warmbloods, and many others too. He conceded today that he can't remember meeting a breed where he knows as many individuals as he does (he's worked with about 30 Icelandic's now) where he hasn't yet encountered a difficult horse to work with, nor one with bad feet. He commented that Cali's feet are almost perfect, what he called "textbook." Notice how casual Cali is about the whole thing - she is the mare I got in late November who was described to me as "very nervous." She is as cooperative with the vet and farrier as any horse can be.
