I had Corrie tested a month ago, age 25. I think the normals here are calibrated a little different. Her anaemia was with a high MCV and wide variation in cell size. Iron deficiency causes a low MCV. From what I have read they make B12 and get folate from green grass. (She had been on mostly hay for a few months.) These vitamin deficiencies are the usual culprits in non iron deficient anaemia. Corrie has been prescribed a herbal remedy called restore from gobal herbs. I also read that horses standing in a paddock and not exercised have a low blood count. The cell size would be normal. They need exercise to make new blood. That's all I know so far until her second test. She is certainly more lively on restore. Sue Coombes
