It's interesting to get pics of their backs anyway. I was pleasantly surprised to see that both Gusti and Dagur have nice solid backs with good loins when I was attempting to capture a pic of a possible dun stripe. My boys are not panty-waisted.... Speaking of shedding...there was a time when I would diligently scrape off every last bit of winter coat as soon as I could. But I've discovered over the last few years that if I am tardy about getting rid of their winter coats, by the time we have our mosquito hatch...they are still fairly well protected during the initial onslaught. We really only have bugs here for a few weeks and then they're gone again. The sandy soil just doesn't hold enough moisture for them. Wish I could say the same for the black flies... Wanda
