This makes me wonder.....OT here, but related in my mind. I have an aunt who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. She was in Phoenix but recently moved to spend her remaining days with her son and his wife in Texas. The one thing she used to comment on when we would talk was how cold and uncaring the health professionals, even down to the receptionists, were where she went in Phoenix. She has of course switched doctors, etc....in Texas. The atmosphere she says, is completely different. She said starting with the receptionists, everyone is so warm and caring and if the doctor sees you while on his way to another patient or elsewhere he always makes eye contact and waves, acknowledging that you are there and still hanging in (so to speak). Her last MRI, from last week, showed a very slight shrinkage of some of the tumors, no new growth on the ones there and no new cancer sites. Her long term prognosis is still the same, but her *quality* of life and her outlook is so different since the move. So this article I immediately connected to her even tho it was written about horses.....but don't we all thrive in a warm, loving atmosphere rather than the cold, uncaring part? All animals, plants, etc....thrive where love is centered. And then I started thinking about the two latest additions to our cat family. These two seem to have so much love to give, rather than taking love, they want to give it out. I think altho I've always loved my horses, I'm going to read this again and give it a lot more thought. I love them, but do I show it in the ways that are important to them....now don't get me wrong, I'm not going to let them tap dance on my head, but there are those times when I'm in a hurry and do what's necessary as fast as I can and.....well you know what I mean. But, thanks Judy, for posting this. I am finding it very thought provoking. -- Elva
