my peahen was attacking something in the grass so I went out and it was a long fat snake and I freaked thinking it was a rattler so I ran to the house screeching like a nut for my husband to get the gun and he ran out in his drawers and said it was an oak snake. But Mrs. Blue, my peahen, was trying to peck it to death so my husband took it to an oak tree and draped it over a limb. Now I know what has been eating an egg a day from my setting hens nest. my Peacock, Mister Pea, is so stupid he probably thought the snake was a living lead rope. he was bred for color only so of course is an airhead :)
Janice -- even good horses have bad days sometimes.
