i noticed that too! Up close he is still ribby and hips and spine are prominent but he is definitely putting on. Only trouble is he is on 6 meals a day and everyone agrees--- even the purina nutrition experts--- that no horse could be thin on the amount he is eating so something is still wrong. Tho no tests show anything and others assure me sometimes a horse can go thru a spell like this. My vet says he has seen several cases of mystery thinness among trail horses in this area recently and he feels it is from a three year drought followed by the recent heavy heavy rains washing runoff into creeks and streams and us riders letting the horses drink. he ran him thru a course of antibiotics even tho he had no symptoms and he is looking way better so cross your fingers and pray. he has gotten better like this before and then seemed to lose it all overnight but i think this is the best he has looked in months. Liz Graves suggested this 99% fat omega 3 stuff by platform and it has made him so glossy shiney everyone has trouble believing anything could be wrong with him! janice-- even good horses have bad days sometimes.
